Bolsillo — Privacy Policy
Bolsillo is local-first by design. Your financial data stays on your device — there is no account to create, nothing is uploaded, and the app makes no network requests at all.
The short version
We collect nothing. Bolsillo has no servers, no account system, no analytics, no advertising, and no third-party SDKs that phone home. Your budget never leaves your phone unless you export it yourself.
What Bolsillo stores, and where
Everything you enter — accounts, transactions, categories, budgets, targets, and scheduled transactions — is written to a database in the app's private storage on your device. Your display preferences (theme, currency, language, number format) are stored alongside it. If you enable the app lock, your passcode is stored in the platform's secure keystore (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore), not in the database.
We do not operate servers that hold any of this. We have no ability to see, retrieve, or restore your data — which also means that if you lose your device without a backup, we cannot recover it for you.
What we collect
Nothing. To be specific, Bolsillo contains no analytics SDK, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, no telemetry, and no remote configuration. It does not read your contacts, location, photos, calendar, or clipboard. It has no login, so there is no email address or profile associated with you.
Bolsillo makes no outbound network connections in normal use. Fonts and every other asset are bundled inside the app rather than downloaded, so using the app does not reveal your IP address to us or to anyone else.
Permissions and why they exist
| Permission | Why Bolsillo asks |
|---|---|
| Biometrics / Face ID | Only if you turn on the app lock. Authentication is performed by the operating system; Bolsillo receives a yes-or-no result and never sees your fingerprint or face data. |
| Notifications | Only if you enable reminders. Notifications are composed and scheduled on your device from your own data — nothing is sent to a push server. |
| Run at startup | Lets already-scheduled reminders survive a device restart. It does not enable background network access. |
| File access | Requested at the moment you save a backup or CSV, or restore one, using the system file picker. Bolsillo cannot browse your files on its own. |
Backups and exports
When you create a CSV export or a JSON backup, the file is written wherever you choose to save it. From that point the file is under your control. If you place it in a cloud-synced folder, email it, or share it with another app, the privacy terms of that service apply to it, not ours. Backup files are not encrypted, so treat them like any other sensitive financial document.
Deleting your data
Settings → Data → Reset erases everything the app has stored. Uninstalling Bolsillo also removes its database, preferences, and stored passcode from your device. Because we never receive your data, there is nothing for you to request from us and nothing for us to delete on our side.
Children
Bolsillo is not directed at children under 13, and because it collects no data, it collects none from children either.
App stores
Bolsillo is distributed through app stores such as Google Play. Those stores collect their own data about downloads, purchases, and (if you opt in) crash reports, under their own privacy policies. That collection is outside our control and is not something Bolsillo initiates.
Changes to this policy
If Bolsillo ever gains a feature that touches the network — cloud sync, for example — this policy will be updated before that feature ships, and the change will be described here rather than made quietly. The "last updated" date at the top always reflects the current version.
